Introduction
Wye Creek is situated about 18km south of Queenstown in The Remarkables
Range. The area is considered by many as the best rock climbing in
the Queenstown region and well worth a visit.

Access
From Queenstown travel to Frankton (about 6km south) and turn right
towards Invercargill (SH6). A further 13km should bring you to the sign posted
gate leading to the Wye Creek Track. If you have a 4x4 you can drive up to the end
of the steep gravel road, alternatively you can walk for about 20
minutes. From the far end of the gravel road walk for between 5 and 20
minutes (following the pipeline) to access each of the climbing faces.
Climbs
First climbed in 1996 the area is relatively new and has great
potential for new routes.
Black Wall
The first face you will discover (to your left as you ascend the
walking track.
Project Wall
Just pass Black wall you will see project wall up and out to the left.
Main Wall
Standing at the base of Project Wall you are only a short walk to the
Main Wall and some long clean lines.
