Introduction
The air is fresh, the views majestic and the rock climbing superb at
Lake Wanaka, New Zealand. After a

Access
There are several climbing faces and all located within a short distance of the
town centre. Most climbs are located on private land, where this is the case access
is usually restricted over the Lambing season (1 October and 15 November).
Phobe Creek
Main Wall
The area is about 15 minutes outside of Wanaka
situated near Whale Wall and
Tombstone
. The arête climb below is called Headbangers Arête, a grate 17
with ***. It's a pretty sweet climb that starts on the face for 3m
then runs for another 10m on the arête. Images and details
supplied by Bob Lynch.
