Introduction
It's hard to believe that a place with so much potential hasn't
received more attention. The Waipu Caves area is definitely worth a visit,
and you may even want to stay a while and put up a route or two.

Access
Travel north on SH1 towards Whangarei, just south of Oakleigh turn onto
the Springfield Road and follow it for about 22km. Turn left onto the
Waupu Caves Road and travel about 8km, when you reach the valley look for
